Opposition Hunting Sight
It's time to change the direction of hunting sights...Meet the
Opposition.
Opposing Pin Technology provides balance to your eyes and doesn't limit your pin gap settings. With our Flat Track setup you’ll never have the illusion of offset pins caused by angled pin tracks. You can setup even yardages on one side and odd yardages on the other side.
Pivot Lock Attachment System allows for removing and installing the sight in seconds while maintaining your zero. Unlike traditional dovetail mounts, nothing can loosen up and you’ll always lock on the same spot. Allows you to easily remove your sight without tools for traveling.
Integrated Lighting System is built into the sight arm and removable in seconds. It won't blind you, spook game or look like an afterthought.
As with any Schaffer product, the Opposition sight is designed to be lightweight (only 4oz.) and bomb proof.
GEN-II rests feature new camo for 2008. MAT-1 is shipping in the new Mathews Lost Camo and TEC-1 is shipping in Realtree AP Green Camo.
John Schaffer made the journey to the Alaskan Peninsula so he could hunt the monster Brown Bears of unit 9. Camped just feet from the Bearing Sea, Schaffer endured days of rain and near gale force winds. After 9 days hunting the lower valleys without seeing a bear, it was time to break camp and head up the mountain. On day 10 Schaffer awoke to more wind and more rain, but this day was different, day 10 brought the first bear sighting of the hunt. After an hour of climbing Schaffer was ahead of the bear. He spotted it lying above the bank of a high mountain stream. The guide and Schaffer moved in closer for a better look at this beast. This bear was a shooter! After an hour of watching the bear, playing the wind, the bear was suddenly up and moving...right at Schaffer and his guide. 30 yards out the bear turned broadside and Schaffer sent his arrow ripping through this massive beasts lungs. Within seconds it was all over...the bear lay dead in the high mountain stream.

New camo for 2007
New for 2007, The MAT-1 GEN-II arrow rest will feature Realtree All
Purpose Repeat camo pattern. The new camo pattern is an exact match
for the new Mathews Drenalin bow and closely matches the Mathews
Outback, Switchback, and Switchback XT models. Look for the new camo
pattern to begin shipping in early 2007.
British Columbia Bison
After an unsuccessful hunt in 2005, John Schaffer once again set out
to hunt Bison in the pink mountains of British Columbia. Old man
winter was cold, very cold, with temperatures reaching 30 below
zero. This years hunt found Schaffer looking at hundreds of Bison
and many good bulls. Three days into the hunt a lone bull was
spotted feeding in a heavily wooded area and the stalk was on!
Schaffer found his best shooting lane and called upon his trusty
Black Max 2 to unleash the fury on this massive beast. Needless to
say the Schaffer family will be eating a lot of Bison tenderloin on
their dinner table in 2007.
